the line on something else and rip it out or just allow their body fluids
to rust them out.
This year I found a flathead with an ingenious plan to get a broken off hook out.
This involved biting again and getting both hooks removed before
he was released.

This fish had broken off from my friend 2 nights earlier. We fished some
submerged timber and were willing to risk being tangled to get some bites.
I know this was the same fish because of the hook, line and knot.
When I noticed how close together the hooks were it reminded
me of a scientific paper that claimed fish tend to be laterally inclined.
This guy said fish are right or left handed (finned) and they tended to use
their more powerful side when taking baits.
I also just noticed that I snelled the hook that I caught the fish on incorrectly to
take advantage of the offset eye.
