Roland Martin Deception

Postby Thebateman on Tue Feb 20, 2007 8:47 pm

Had one of my customers tell me this story. His company brought some clients to Roland's Marina and Fish camp for a couple of days of fishing. They hired 10 guides to take 20 of them out. The first mourning, one of the clients caught a 9 pound largemouth on a shiner. Since they were heading back to Roland's for lunch, he brought it back in the live well to show it off. Upon arriving, the guide put it in a holding tank, to be released later. During lunch, an employee of the marina came in and asked who caught the 9 pounder. When the client identified himself, the employee asked if he intended to release it. When he said yes, he was asked if they could keep it for a couple of days, and then release it. The client said "I guess so, but why do you want to keep it?" The employee responded "Roland will be filming a show here in a couple of days  ". That fish became a star!!!

Thanks for sharing your story Thebateman! That's a nice bass..I think I'd have to keep it for more than a couple of days! :)

My wife works for Bass Pro Shops. Last week she waited on a man for over 45 mins. trying to find him 3 shirts he liked. After he made his final choices he asked her to take them to be embroadered with his name. While she was doing this she noticed this same man standing on top of the huge fish tank with a rod and microphone. She had no idea she had just spent an hour with Roland Martin.
