Galveston Texas Fishing Report 2-6-12

Postby Capt. Alan » Mon Feb 06, 2012 9:42 pm

:fishing: Hello to everyone in Florida! This is Capt. Alan from Galveston Texas. Just wanted to say HI to everyone and give a fishing report. Our winter time fishing this year has been hot & cold. One day we catch them good then the next day we can't buy a bite. I have experienced this in the past during the winter months, but not to this extent. Lately though we have got some rain and it has helped fishing because it has flushed some fish up river down to the northern parts of our bay system. Fishing has been getting better. Last week I had 2 trips that produced 15-20 keeper trout each day. That is excellent for us this time of the year. I am using some live shrimp under a cork and some soft plastics fished slow bouncing it off shell on bottom. The red fish that we are catching are between 17 & 28 inches. As far as the other species we have been catching some seasonal schooling fish for the kids with ease. Well I will check in with you guys soon, hopefully with a better report. Until next time, see you on the water.

Thanks Capt. Alan
