Potomac River Rockfish - no dice

Postby allingeneral on Thu May 12, 2011 8:21 pm

I went fishing yesterday on the Potomac for a Rockfish. The tide was so high that I had to wad across part of the dock to get to my boat. The wind was blowing straight up the river, so it was a bit chopy. Luckily, the wind died down a bit in the afternoon.

I pulled a couple of chartreuse parachute rigs around for several hours and scoped a lot of fish, but didn't get a single bite. Water temp is around 65-67 degrees. Fish were in 20 to 30 feet of water hanging at between 13 and 25 feet.

Wish I had a picture of a 40" Striper to show you. Maybe next time.

Fish on! :fishing:
