South Florida Bass & Peacock Bass Fishing 4-25-08

Postby peacock08 on Fri Apr 25, 2008 4:32 pm

We 've been out on Tuesday and Wednesday this week for largemouth bass in the Florida Everglades and Miami for Peacock Bass. On Wednesday we boated 45 bass to 4 lbs. and probably missed just as many. Tuesday we hit the Miami Airport lakes for peacock bass and the guys landed 16 peacocks to 4 lbs. Miami peacock bass fishing is red hot right now and only getting better each day. These fish love hot water and weather which brings the fish up into 2 ft. of water! The artificial bite should begin now especially topwater fishing. The South Florida Everglades largemouth bass fishing will improve now that the rain has slowed down somewhat. The water management department should start lowering the water for the hurricane season which starts June 1st. The fishing improves as the water drops and brings out of the flats the biggest bass of the year.ImageImage

Nice pictures peacock08. Thanks for sharing! :fish:

Sounds like you guys are catching a lot of fish right now. Keep up the good work.

Just out of curiosity...what does a peacock bass taste like?
