Maine has an abundance of hunting opportunities, from 200+ pound whitetails, to black bear, moose, ruffed grouse and snowshoe hare. I guide deer and moose hunters in WMD's 8 & 14, centered around The Forks.
The archer and black powder hunter can either hunt form our treestands, ground blinds, or still hunt the miles of abandoned logging trails, spruce swamps, and hardwood stands, and for the rifle hunter, special stand sites have been chosen overlooking rich browse areas.
For the upland and small-game hunter, ruffed grouse, referred to locally as partridge, and migrating woodcock offer challenging shots as they rocket through the woods. The snowshoe hare makes a great quarry, and is plentiful in this area. Still hunt or bring your dogs for a memorable hunt.
