Lots of BIG Flounder in the bay TODAY~

Postby RACN35 on Thu Jun 19, 2008 7:40 pm

The trouble is ......we just dont know where they live !! Headed out of LC around 0900 this am and started off at the 1st Island.....we caught nice fat fish but no keepers, toads, croaker and sea bass too.....tagged the flatties & the lone Willy. Kept at it until we had meat in the box.......lots of nice fat fish. Then there were no less than 10 fish in a row that were right at 16......a skate and more shorties......1st & 3rd Islands held fish. Harvey went home with all the keepers ( Doug is a real nice guy ) Every thing else was tagged and let go to be fat N happy for another day !!

I've often wondered how you clean a flounder... Do you only get meat off of one side? Thise things are weird

you clean it allmost like a regular fish- meat on both sides

when they are born they swim like a normal fish and the eyes are on opposite sides too, as the fish get older it moves the right eye over to the left (top) side
