Fuel Injector Cleaning

Postby injectorrenew on Thu Mar 10, 2011 3:16 pm

With ethanol in todays fuel, it is a sure thing you will be dealing with clogged fuel injectors. There are ways to get debris out of them. Spraying carb cleaner through them with some compressed air from your compressor. Though it may seem to remedy the problem, it can cause major issues. You need to understand that there are a few things to consider. Fuel injectors have coils in them that make them open and close. Knowing to ohms can assure the condition of them. Also, in many cases if the debris is not totally removed it can cause the injector to leak. This can cause fuel to wash the oil from cylinder walls creating friction that can cause a meltdown. NOT GOOD. You must consider the fact that this can also mix fuel in your oil, again, NOT GOOD. To elimiinate additional problems I would recommend a professional fuel injector cleaning service. There your injectors can be matched to the proper factory specs. Balanced fuel will increase fuel economy and engine performance. injectorrenew.com is a full service company that gives quick turnaround and dependable service that has focused in to marone industry. At $20.00 per injector check em out.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaning

It does not take much of a restriction in an injector to lean out the fuel mixture. A restriction of only 8% to 10% in a single fuel injector can be enough to cause a misfire. When this occurs, unburned oxygen enters the exhaust and makes the O2 sensor read lean. On older multiport systems that fire the injectors simultaneously, the computer compensates by increasing the on-time of all the injectors, which can create an overly rich fuel condition in the other cylinders.

Thank you for the post. Im considering off-car cleaning for my Bostech fuel enjector, even its much costly than on-car. A charge of $25 to $35 dollars perhaps is not that bad.
