I do a lot of my fishing

Postby Uncle Chuck on Wed Jul 16, 2008 1:31 pm

This is where I do a lot of my fishing, just a mile from my house. Little Bear Lake, in N. W. Alabama. Jamie even walked down there and back when he was here. It's a nice easy walk down, but up hill back. I can't do that any more!

Here lately, Mona and I have spent more time there, on the pier, feeding the fish! We take bread that's a little stale, roll it in balls and throw it in. After a while, the BIG boys show up, so we make the balls bigger, to keep them around. It's a perfectly relaxing way to spend an afternoon! :fish: :fish:

By the way, Rick. You did a fine job of tracking me down. There's about 5 houses here in this little area they call Old Nauvoo! Used to be a stage coach stop.

Another point of interest.......where it says "Jordan's Mill" is one of just a handful of operating grist mills left in the USA! You can take your own corn, wheat, etc. there and they will grind it into cornmeal or flour. It is run from a dam and waterwheel on the Little Bear Creek below the dam of Little Bear Lake. :coffee:

I've always wanted to try fishing but I still need to find a good mentor for it.

Spamming websites with your dental links (removed from your post) isn't a very good way to find a mentor.
