Looking at Google maps there sure is alot of lakes around that area......anyone ever lived/fish in them thar parts ? I wonder if they have ever seen a WAHOO ......KNOT~YET anyway.......

Not many Wahoo or Stripers in Topeka. You'll want to target things like Crappie and Hybrid White (Striped) Bass, which are a freshwater variant of your beloved Striper and Channel Catfish. Take a look at the following link
