I've heard of it - never tried it. It has been around along time, though. I use an NGLI grade 2, teflon grease for reel gear lubrication. You can get it in any store as marine grease, the "environmentally friendly" stuff. It's Teflon based (PTFE), so it has no harmful effect on the waters ...

My guess is that it's a bowfin. The angle of the shot makes it had to be sure.
Some people call them mud fish, and other names are grinnell, choupique and dog fish.
They are tough fighters and will hit a bait with savage abandon. They have also been around for 100 million years!

Thats right I quit about 15 years ago. I got into other things and "drifted off."
But Im coming back! Im in Aiken, SC. Lots of freshwater fishing and 2 hours from the Atlantic coast.
