Sad end
So I think my season is finally over. It was a good one though. I was out about three days ago when the weather was a bit warmer. I think the temp was around 50 degrees. Was out for about 3 hours on the beach and not even a knock down. Got a call from a friend and went out in his boat for another 5 ...

Re: First Post
You know I didn't catch any of the beach but went out on a boat and caught these two cows.

I'll tell I have had no good luck off the beach. Lots of blue fish and 2 small stripers. But nothing worth writing about that is for sure.

Re: Huge Striper Video
That is a nice fish. The rod was bent so far down. I love to see that. Now I think I am going to have to go tomorrow. I was up in the air about it but that was the deal maker. I will be fishing tomorrow morning.

Nice video. So do you not reel when fly fishing it looks like you are just pulling the line in with your hand?

Surf report
So here is the report. It was cold and wet. I caught 1 short in 5 hours. Moved up and down the beach and nothing but a lot of grass and no fish. I thought it was going to hit when the birds started working just outside the breakers. But there was nothing under them . The positive is I got to use my ...

First Post
I like to be the first one to post. I just received a 11'0 Tica rod and a Tica Dolphin reel and new tall sand spike. So i am going to give it a try and catch my last striper of '07 from the beach. If I should succeed I will return with pictures and post. Wish me luck.

Italian Striper
I made this a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Cut striper fillets in to serving size. Toss in olive oil. Splash with lemon or lime juice and coat with Old Bay Seasoning. Cover fillets with several thin slices of sweet onions. Take whole canned tomatoes, half them and place two halves over each...

Re: Looking for advice
I do a bit of surf fishing up on the Jersey shore. And this is just my opinion but this is what I would use. I like the 20# or 30# suffix braided line in green or yellow. I am always a big fan of the sputnik weights that hold the bottom very well. They have the claws that open up and grab the bottom...

Re: 1st trip in the new boat -
Great story and great catch. The boat is now christened. This is only going to me one thing. That you are going to catch no fish next year
. It is just how it works. But I hope you and your new boat have a great season.
