That is one of the reasons that I decided to start fishing for them. The Division of Wildlife told me that over 90 percent of the bio-mass in the lakes and rivers is carp. There are a bunch of them.

Re: Favorite Fishing Baits
I have used alot of different baits, but the best are usally live for big bass. The other day I was at a pond here in town and there was a five pounder sitting in her nest. I had the kids catch a bluegill for me and we dropped it in the nest. She sucked it in quicker than you can blink. I actually d...

Re: Trout Fishing
I have caught a bunch of trout in my lifetime, and catching them usually requires a bit more than just finding a water where trout might be. Sometimes they will bite easily, but other times, they can be downright stubborn. I have had days where I catch a hundred, and other days where they just don't...

Re: Freshwater Fishing Rod Best Quality?
I couldn't agree more! I have used several different rods, but when it comes down to it, the good old Ugly Stick always comes through. Re: question regarding fish finders - help please!
I don't know a ton about fish finders, but I do know that my brothers use the same finder and when we go ice fishing, they have to sit about 100 yards from each other if they both want to use their finder. They got the same model thinking they would be ok used next to each other, but this isn't the ...

Re: Biggest Northern Pike you've ever seen!
That's a pig for sure. What a huge fish. I wish we had some decent pike fishing close to home. I've never really fished for them, but it's on the wish list. I really like that last picture. I would be nice to hear more of the story on that big fish.

New from the plains of Colorado
Yes, I know. You hear Colorado and imagine pristine mountain lakes and lots of trout. Well, I live a couple of hours from the mountains, and most of the fish I chase are of the warm water type. I do get to the mountains from time to time and spend some time in Wyoming every year fishing for trout. R...
