Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Joe Scilovatios, along with his son, Joe, Jr., his nephew, Tony, and his friend, Bill, all from Pennsylvania chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Tony, an avid fisherman from the north, was very knowledgeable and helpful in the cockpit.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. Due to our extreme drop off, if you venture off another ¼ of a mile, you would find yourself in 500 ft. of water.

We started out trolling with two #8 plainers down both with sea witches and double hooked Bonito strips. For surface baits, we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. As we trolled the reefs catching fish in Fort Lauderdale there were some birds working off shore. I headed out to where the birds were in 350 ft. of water off of Fort Lauderdale. The family took turns bringing in their catches, which was a total of nine Bonitos and three tunas.

It was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. Once at the dock, Dave, our mate, filet their fish for them to take home and enjoy.
