Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Dave, Amy, Erin, and Thomas Washington, along with Drew Bedn and Griff Sheposh all from Detroit chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, we stopped to buy live Goggle Eyes from T&T Bait. From there we headed towards the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale in 120 ft. of water, 1.8 miles from shore. We started trolling with two #8 plainers both with sea witches and double hooked Bonito strips. For surface baits, we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. As we trolled the reefs, the anglers reeled in two Bonitos.

From there, I saw a color change forming to the east of Fort Lauderdale and headed out towards it. We set out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite and one Shark bait on the bottom in 180 ft. of water.

Right long!!! The bait is getting very nervous!!! Sailfish!!! – as the dorsal fin exits the water chasing down the Goggle Eye. Hooked up!!! The Sailfish came out of the water to show his magnificent neon colors while the sun glistened down on his body. Thomas was our angler, and the rest of the crew cheered him on. After a thirty-five minute fight, Dave, our mate, wired the Sailfish – pictures were taken and the Sailfish was released to fight again

It was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316, while watching the plasma TV.
