Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Top Shot Sportfishing Charter Boat and Capt. Zsak

Scott Bearey, a Miami native, along with Tom, Emmy, Ed and Chris from New York chartered the Top Shot Sportfishing charter boat team to do some deep sea charter boat sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We had clear skies and good weather today.

This past week we have had good offshore Mahi Mahi catches, averaging 6 to10 Mahi Mahi’s a trip from small to large (3 lbs to 25 lbs.). The Mahi Mahi’s have been in 500 feet of water, a few miles offshore. If you find the weed lines and the birds, you will find the fish.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. We started out trolling with two #8 plainers down and four surface baits and headed offshore, looking for weed lines and birds.

We found the weed lines and birds, and over the next couple of hours, we caught 15 Mahi Mahi’s and one 10 lb. Wahoo – six of the Mahi Mahi’s were undersized so we let them go.

It was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. At the dock, our mate, Mark, filet out the fish.
