Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Top Shot Sportfishing Charter Boat and Capt. Zsak

Christian Szasa, a repeat customer and airline pilot here in Fort Lauderdale, along with friends from Romania chartered the TopShotfishing Charter Boat team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. As Christian boarded the boat, and was welcomed by the TopShotfishing Charter Boat team, I asked him what kind of fishing he would like to do. His response was that he wanted to catch dinner for him and his friends.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. If you venture off another ¼ of a mile you would find yourself in 500 ft. of water due to our extreme drop off.

We started out trolling with two #8 plainers, one with a blue and white sea witch and the other with a pink and blue sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip. For surface baits, we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. We trolled the reefs ranging in depth of water from 80 ft. out to 200 ft. and headed towards some of our 34-charter fishing artificial wrecks in Fort Lauderdale.

After catching a couple of Kingfish, I saw some birds working towards the east of Fort Lauderdale, so I headed out there which put me in 450 ft. of water in a few minutes. All the anglers took turns bringing in their catches – a total of five Bonitos, five Oceanic Albacore and one Black Fin Tuna.

It was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316, while watching the plasma TV. At the dock, Dave, our mate, filet out their fish for dinner that night.
