Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Mixed Bag Simone.jpg

Simone Salois, a Fort Lauderdale resident, and friends from Quebec, Paul-Emile, Rejane, Lise, Claudette and Gerard chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. As Simone and her guests were boarding the Happy Day Today, she advised that she was having a fish fry at her residence tonight for 10 guests so she put in an order with the Captain on catching plenty of good eating fish. 

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale FL. If you go to the east a ¼ of a mile more, you will be in 500 ft. of water due to or extreme drop off.

We put two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a double hook Bonito strip with a black and purple sea witch in front. For surface baits, we had four Bonito strips and a daisy chain teaser. As we trolled off of Fort Lauderdale in the depth of water ranging from 80 ft. out to 400 ft., we caught 3 Kingfish, 4 Bonitos, one Mahi Mahi and one Wahoo – an excellent selection for the menu for tonight’s fish fry – enough to feed at least 20 people!!!

Simone and her friends retired into the a/c salon aboard the Happy Day Today for the trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
