Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Adam Whitescarver from Jensen Beach, along with his business associates, Patti, DeAnna, Juan Carlos, Brian and Elliott, were in a business conference and decided to charter the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east at 10 mph, seas running 3-4 ft., with blue skies.

After we left the dock at Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale, fifteen minutes later we were at the sea buoy located in 120 ft. of water. We put down two #8 plainers down, one with a blue and pink sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip and the other with a black and blue sea witch. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoosand two Bonito strips.

With 34 artificial wrecks located in Fort Lauderdale, ranging from 35 ft. boats up to 520 ft. freighters, make for an excellent habitat for fish to call their homes. In return, the predators are not too far behind. I trolled from one artificial wreck to another, ranging from 95 ft. out to 420 ft. of water, in search of Black Fin Tunas. All I could find and the anglers caught were 13 Bonitos and two Barracudas. One more wreck left to hit and it finally paid off, as Adam hopped into the chair and after a twenty minute battle brought in a 29 lb. Black Fin Tuna, which will be served for dinner that night.

It was time to retire into the a/c salon for the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
