Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Brent Graig from Tennessee, who has fished with me in the passed, made a return appearance by himself with a doctor note, to please relaxed for the next week. by chartering the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the west at 9 mph, temperatures were in the 85’s. On this adventure, Brent made a request to catch a large Shark. In the past, Brent caught Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Mako and Kingfish with me.

Twenty minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water off of the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale . We started out with two number #8 planters, 3and1/2 blue drone spoon, the other a blue and white sea witch in front of a double hook Bonita. For surface baits , two strip, two ballyhoo's. I trolled the reefs from 80 feet out to 180 catching bonitas and kingfish. Now it was time to do some shark fishing. We put out three Shark baits – surface, midrange and bottom – with two live Goggle Eyes from the kite. As we were discussing our previous fishing excursions the surface bait take off, shark on as the dorsal fin cut though the water. Forty minutes later a 150 bl. hammer head shark long side the boat for pictures and set free. Nice job Brent. We set up again, 45minutes later the bottom rod bent over and the fun was on. Brent being the only angler on board the boat had his hands full. 50 minutes another Hammer head shark at side of boat for picture taking.

It was time to retire into the a/c salon for the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316 .
