Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Bryan Rock along with his lovely friend, Jackie Ward, from Seattle chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east at 2 mph and temperatures were in the low 90’s with blue skies.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock at Bahia Mar, our lines were in the water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale FL, 1.8 miles from shore. We put two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a blue and white sea witch in front of a double hook Ballyhoo. For surface baits we had two Bonito strips and two Ballyhoos and a daisy chain teaser. We trolled around, zig zagging over the reefs in 80 ft. of water out to 190 ft, and we wound up catching 4 Bonitos, 4 Kingfish and two Barracudas. Bryan caught most of the fish while Jackie was the photographer, but she did catch one of the Barracudas and one of the Kingfish with some difficulty due to her unique physique.

With plenty of fish in the box, it was time to head back. The anglers retired into the a/c salon for the trip back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
