Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Mixed Bag Judson.jpg

Judson and Christine Wager along with Athem and Amber Robinson, Nike Ratke and Fosouk Morales all Ft. Lauderdale people and all patrons of the Candy Store, the Parrot and Cheers, chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We had winds out of the east at 4-7 mph, seas running 1-2 ft. with the sun playing peek-a-boo.

With the drink coolers full of beer and iced down, we were ready to begin our fishing expedition. Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. .

We started out trolling the reefs with four Bonito strips for surface baits and two plainers, one with a pink and blue sea witch and the other with a blue and silver sea witch – both had in front a double hooked Bonito strip. At this time of the year, we do very well with Bonito strips for bait, especially for Kingfish. All the anglers enjoyed their cold beers while bringing in their catch. We ended up with a total of 5 Kingfish, 5 Bonitos and 3 Barracudas.

With the supply of beer depleting, it was time to head back to the dock. All the anglers retired into the a/c salon to relax on the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
