Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

The boys from Fort Pierce, Michael Schiavone, Vincent Gordawo, Michael Yocom and WD Osteen, returned for their semi-annual fishing expedition with the Topshotfishing team; this is the third time they charter with us to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east southeast at 12 mph, temperature in the mid 80’s, a sunny day.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, FL, 1.8 miles from shore. We started off trolling with two #8 plainers down each with a double hooked Bonito strip with a sea witch in front. For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. We trolled the reefs ranging from 80 ft. out to 200 ft. of water, while all the anglers rotated in catching fish.

While fishing, the guys were talking about their retirement and how much they are enjoying this time in their lives. All in all, their total catch was 12 Kingfish and 2 Bonitos.

It was time to head back to the dock; the anglers went into the a/c salon for the ride back to the Bahia Mar Marina at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. After arriving at the dock, the mate filet out the fish to be served for dinner later that night.
