Best and Worst snap swivels for beginners

Post by WillCFish »

For saltwater use Stainless Steel and rinse them off like you would your lures, rods and reels.

Thanks for your posts lately, WillCFish. Just a quick FYI - you can embed the youtube videos directly into your posts by putting the youtube video number inside youtube tags, as such:

Code: Select all

I used to use brass snap swivels exclusively until I straightened a couple of them out on the Potomac, then switched to coast lock snaps connected to a stainless barrel swivel with a stainless split ring. Pulling a parachute rig and catching a 40lb certainly requires a lot heavier terminal tackle than tossing a bobber out in fresh water to catch a 2lb crappie. :fishin:

i have straighted some swivels on big cats & cobia.... i still use the eagle claw cheapies tho....

i have 1000s of every size and brand ... SPRO makes the best inline swivels but other than that i will use the cheapies and loosen my drag a bit
