Looking for a GPS unit

Post by allingeneral »

I need a GPS unit for my boat. I want one, preferably with Chesapeake/Eastern United States already loaded and/or with the memory card. I don't care if it's color or black and white, I just need something with depth contours and buoys marked.

If you've recently upgraded the unit on your boat and have the old model laying around...I'll happily take it off your hands.

Thanks!

Garmin is the only wa to go in my opinion.

I have the 198c - its been discontinued but when I need a new one I will call Garmin directly and see what they recomend that has replaced mine.

Yeah, that's a good looking unit. I'm trying to get something decent without dropping $500.00. I don't need anything spectacular...just something functional that will show depth contours and special points (buoys, nav hazards, etc) and track my course. I already have a humminbird fishfinder, so I would be happy with a GPS-only unit.

Good point on the tackle dealer part... I'm just being lazy at this point :)
