Annual Lake Erie Smallmouth Trip

Hey guys Im Back Ive been around just not posting much. I thought I would give you a report on our trip to Lake Erie we take every year to smallmouth fish. We head up to port clinton Ohio on thursday morning. We stay the night in Ohio ,hang out at a local bar called the warf. They have great bologna sandwiches there. I had the perch sandwich,we sang and drank a few and had a blast. Friday we headed to Pelee Island Canada,Nice place but things havent changed alot in a bunch of years over there. The place has one resteraunt(anchor and wheel inn) and a bunch of bed and brekfast places. 3 bars and one cop lol. The fishing this year was great we caught over 60 fish a day on our two boats(a boat consist of 6 fisherman plus the guide) and had a great time. The weather was hot in August but the fish didnt mind. We use softcraws and tube jigs and spank em real good. I used the Berkley gulp Gobie this year and caught the biggest fish of the trip a chunky 4.5 ounce beauty. I cant wait to head back this year for the fun friendship and all around good time we had not to mention the great fishing. Our guide service was islander guide service,its ran by capt. Bernie Wise. That's awesome, Crab. Smallies are my favorite fish and Lake Erie is one of the finest smallmouth lakes in the world. I have never fished Erie, but do most of my smallie fishing in Lake Michigan, up near Sturgeon Bay, WI.
