Hello all,
I am going to be traveling to San Salvador Island, Bahamas this May. I will be there for an entire month and I don't know if I will be able to live without doing some fishing. I have never fished in the Bahamas and I was just wondering if anyone had any info on exactly what and how I should plan to fish? I would like to avoid charter fishing, but I have no access to a boat either. So, if anyone has any idea about in shore fishing or coastal fly/bonefishing please help me out!
Thanks,

I hate to say it, but you may be best off to get a charter for a day just to see their techniques and ask a lot of questions. Perhaps with the right questions and careful attention to the details of how they're catching fish - maybe you can sustain yourself for a couple of weeks.
If a charter is out of the question, I guess you could just walk into the nearest tackle shop/marina and start asking questions.
How are you getting there?
