Fresh Water Tackle Setup

Hello I just moved to North Carolina by Lake Norman from Florida. I've been an avid fisherman all my life, helping my father run his inshore charter business out of Tampa Bay since I was 12 years old. I'm well seasoned with catching saltwater fish from Snook to Grouper, Tarpon and Mahi. Unfortunately I have little to no experience with fresh water fishing, I have no idea what to accommodate as far as line, (Fluorocarbon, Mono, Braid, lb. test.) Ideal knots to use, lures, livebait, size and flex of pole, or whether to pick up a baitcaster or spinning reel. Thanks for any advice you veterans out there have to offer
