Fort Lauderdale Fishing on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Today there was a convention in town from the Aerospace Corporation. Vendors and agents arrived from all over the country. A beautiful “Chamber of Commerce” weather here in Fort Lauderdale FL.

Ed Bevier from Alabama, an avid fisherman that fishes in the Gulf, along with five other clients chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing. They were off to a good start with a cooler full of cold beer!!!

We left the dock and twenty minutes later we were at the sea buoy off of Fort Lauderdale FL in 120 ft. of water. As we trolled around, the action was slow. With a couple of Kingfish and a Bonito in the fish box, I decided to do some Shark fishing. With three Shark baits out, one on the surface, one midrange and one on the bottom, we were prepared to do battle. Ed was in the cockpit all enthused about catching a large fish, while everybody else relaxed in the air conditioned Salon. I could see a dorsal fin from the distance tracking the scent coming off the surface Shark bait. Here he comes!!! - grabbing the bait and swimming off at a fast rate causing the line to scream off the reel. I thought the boat was on fire as the other five in the Salon came running out and screaming in excitement. Ed did a fantastic job fighting the Shark. An hour later, the Hammerhead Shark was brought to the side of the boat. Pictures were taken and the Shark was released to fight again. Ed decided to do a replica mount of his Shark to remember this accomplishment.
