Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

A personal good friend of mine, Gordon James, Sr. with the Sedgwick Law Firm, and his friend and business associate Wes of the Caterpillar Corporation, along with his wife, from Texas chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL.

On this fishing charter we were targeting Mahi Mahi. With a stiff breeze out of the east, 20 to 25 mph made it a sporty fishing day. We put out two kites, each with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite. While waiting for the predator to appear, Gordon and I talked about the good times we have had on our fishing trips, especially the BBC tournaments we fished in the Bahamas at Harbor Island and the Abacos. Gordon and his son, Dan, caught double header Blue Marlins in each of these tournaments and took second place in the Harbor Island tournament.

Coming back to reality, our first strike was on the left long kite with Wes being the angler. He reeled in a Bull Mahi Mahi. Next was his wife, followed by Gordon. Each of the anglers took turns catching Mahi Mahi’s.

After a good time, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. We fillet the Mahi Mahi’s so that they could enjoy eating them that same night over the grill.
