Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Jeff Woods wanted to take his three sons, Nick age 12, Zak age 10 and Nate age 7, fishing so he chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. Jeff’s wife dropped off the family and headed off to the Galleria Mall for a day of shopping.

Winds were out of the southeast at 15 mph, 3-4 ft. seas and blue water reaching the second reef. Before we left the dock I answered a multitude of questions from the inquisitive three boys, this being their first deep sea sport fishing expedition. After all, they’re our future anglers.

We started off trolling north of Fort Lauderdale, FL in 120 ft. of water. We had two plainers down and five surface baits. Our first strike came from the right long and Nick was our angler with a Bonito. I kept working the area, while the boys took turns being the angler and catching Bonitos, Tunas and Blue Fish, each one cheering the other on. It was a pleasure seeing three brothers enjoying fishing and each other’s company.

After a good catch and good times, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
