Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Phil and Stacey Bell from North Dakota along with two other guests from Finland chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing Fort Lauderdale FL. We had east winds, 10-14 mph and 3-4 ft. seas, with blue indigo water in on the second reef.

Our drop off is less than 2 miles from shore in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale. Being docked so close to the inlet, fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines are in the water. We put two plainers down, one with a blue and white sea witch with a double hooked Bonito strip and the other with a black and blue sea witch. For surface baits we had four Bonito strips with sea witches in front. With 34 artificial wrecks off of Fort Lauderdale, ranging from 60 ft. of water out to 410 ft. gives you a variety of wrecks to fish over. I trolled from one artificial wreck to the other while the anglers took turn catching a total of 8 Bonitos, 3 Kingfish, 2 Tunas and one 18 lb. Wahoo.

With temperatures in the low 90’s, all the anglers relaxed comfortably on the leather sofas in the air conditioned salon as we headed back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale Fl. 33316.
