Hi All…We went for some boating and fishing from the fort desoto boat ramps last week. What a spot, as you’re just a few minutes from the gulf, with quick access to the great fishing in the deep water shipping channels, egmont key, and all of the small uninhabited islands around this pinellas county fishing hot spot. The park is located in southern pinellas county. If you need more info, there are more photos, a map, and odds and ends at fort desoto boat ramps. Please note that pinellas charges $5 to use the ramp, which is also the largest and most active launch spot in the county. They have restrooms, a picnic area, and bring your hose and you can wash your boat off.

Take care, Stuart

Great fishing all around Ft. DeSoto. We had a blast down there in January wading for Trout. Awesome views of the SkyWay from out on DeSoto.

Wow, that launch area looks awesome in the picture. Makes the little boat ramp down at the river look like...well...a partially flat piece of sand that drops off into the river! lol
