Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Mixed Bag Josh (2).jpg

Mr. & Mrs. Josh Walker from GA were enjoying the beach while vacationing in Fort Lauderdale for their 3rd year wedding anniversary; they decided to charter the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east at 5-9 mph and seas running 3-4 ft., temperatures in the high 80’s.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, FL, 1.8 miles from shore. We started off fishing with a #6 plainer with a brown and pink sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip and a #8 plainer with a blue and silver sea witch in front of a double hooked Mullet strip. For surface baits we had four Bonito strips. With 34 artificial wrecks located off of Fort Lauderdale, we have plenty of excellent places to target; the depths of the wrecks range from 55 ft. out to 510 ft. We trolled from one wreck to another while both Walkers enjoyed reeling in a total of 5 Kingfish, 1 Mahi Mahi, 1 Barracuda and 6 Bonitos.

With tired arms from reeling in the fish, both of them retired and relaxed into the a/c salon for the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
