Topic reply notifications

I was playing with some settings the other day, trying to figure out if I can set up a better system for "Email me when a reply is posted". However, I quickly realized that this setting will be annoying to just about everyone, so I have removed it.

If you want to be notified of replies to a particular topic, you can either:

a) Subscribe to the topic (at the bottom of each topic page)
- or -
b) Check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" checkbox when you are replying to a topic. (right below the "Attach signature" checkbox.

So, if you are still getting a bunch of emails about topic replies and you don't want to see them...let me know and I'll sort it out for you. I'll need to know your forum username and the topic name (or a direct link to the topic).

Thanks!

Oh yeah.... all set.. that reminds me.. you can set your own preferences for Topic Reply Notifications in your User Control Panel (UCP). Just click the link near the top of the forum that says "User Control Panel" then, perform the following inside your control panel:

For notification of replies to all of your topics (or to turn it off):
1) Click the "Board Preferences" tab
2) Click "Edit Posting Defaults"
3) Change the setting for "Notify me upon replies by default:"

To change the setting on a specific forum or topic that you're watching, you can unsubscribe to multiple topics, etc, by performing the following in your User Control Panel:

1) Click the "Overview" tab
2) Click "Manage Subscriptions"
3) Follow the directions to unmark topics

I hope that helps :)
