3 AA Maglite question
3 AA Maglite question
I have pulled the spring out of the cap of my 3 cell double A maglite, and when I put it back in, it now flickers and will not stay on like there is a bad connection. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

The tail cap on all Maglite flashlights must be properly secured in order to complete the electrical ground circuit within the flashlight.
Try cleaning the following areas in an effort to restore a good electrical connection surfaces.
Remove the spring and clean the inside of the tail cap with a small wire brush. You may also want to try twisting the spring inside the tailcap after you put it back in so that the spring will make a good connection inside the tail cap.
Make sure that the silver area of the tailcap where it mates to the body of the flashlight is also cleaned very well and is making a good connection (pay particular attention to the tailcap threads and the flat area of the tailcap where it touches the flashlight body).
Make sure that the tailcap is secured tightly to the body of the flashlight.
Hopefully, this will correct your flickering light problem.
