My buddy capt Jack and I fished lake Berryessa last weekend. It was a turkey shoot not a sanctioned tournament for the club. Conditions where a bit tough. The weather report called for rain all day but we got lucky and didn't get any.

We only caught six bass all day and five of them came on Capt Jacks hand tied jigs. In the morning we used black and blue and later switched to green pumpkin. Biggest fish was only two and a half pounds but it was enough to take the big fish for the tournament and we also won with the most weight.

Just goes to show. In a tournament it' not quantity but quality that wins the day. We won enough cash to pay for the gas and launch fees that day with a little left over.

It's a good outing any time you can spend the day on the water and have someone else pay all of the associated fees and costs. Nice job Sporting Gent!
