Richard Zednick Neck Injury - Hockey

OK, I haven't seen this yet...just heard about it on the radio on my way to work this morning. I think it might be a little graphic... I can't see it from my desktop at work because they have filters in place that won't let me see youtube videos. So, I'm posting this so that I can watch it later.

Florida Panthers forward Richard Zednik had emergency surgery after taking a skate to his neck in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena. Zednik's agent David Schatia confirmed Monday that his client is recovering in a Buffalo hospital.

And this is a youtube video of a previous incident that was very similar involving Clint Malarchuk on March 22, 1989, in a game between the visiting St. Louis Blues and Malarchuk's Buffalo Sabres. Steve Tuttle of the Blues and Uwe Krupp of the Sabres collided at the mouth of the goal, and Tuttle's skate caught Malarchuk on the neck, slicing open his jugular vein. More info in the link below
