Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Mixed Bag David.jpg

David Lloyd along his girlfriend, Michelle Wiksell, his father, Ralph, and a friend, Loni Atton, all from St. Petersburg, chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Two weeks before the charter, Ralph had an accident which limited his ability to walk on his own; nevertheless, with our assistance, he boarded the boat safely to participate in our fishing adventure.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. The object of this fishing charter was to bring home some eating fish. David was amazed by the difference in the traveling time to our fishing grounds. In St. Petersburg he has a 30 mile ride to get to the fishing grounds but here, in Fort Lauderdale, it’s less than 2 miles to our drop off.

We started out trolling the reefs with four surface baits and two plainers. As we trolled the reefs, all the anglers took turns bringing in their catch. At the end of our 4 hour charter, we had a total of 8 Kingfish, one Mahi Mahi, one Barracuda, 8 Bonitos and one Black Grouper, that was released because it was just under the legal size. .

With plenty of fish to travel back home, it was time to retire into the a/c salon to relax on the ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. Ralph thanked us for a cooling and relaxing ride back to the docks.
