Clear Lake report

I fished a small club tournament at Clear Lake yesterday. Launch was at 0600. Had a limit by 0630 and started culling by 0700. Soft plastics an 1/2 oz. spider jigs in watermelon. Also caught several on rip baits. Couldn't get anything going on top water but some of the other boaters had some luck there. Most fish were caught in 8 feet or less water fishing weed lines and boat docks. With a 16+ pound five fish limit we still finished in the bottom half. Winning weight was over 27 pounds for five with a nine + pound kicker.
Not bad for a small club of weekend warriors. Clear Lake is hot.

Wow, those are some big fish...and biting fast! That sounds like some fun fishing no matter what place you come in.
