Madeira Beach Fishing Jetty

Post by stuart888 »

Hi All…I was over at Madeira Beach a few weeks ago, and took this photo of the small jetty and pier, by John's Pass. I talked to the guy who was catching the most, he was using a silver spoon and catching spanish mackerel. He said it was the water temperatures, which were around 74 degrees at the time. His other trick, he could cast a good 60 yards out, with the wind. It was a great beach day as well. From this location, you are a two-minute walk to John’s Pass Village and Gators Bar. This jetty is a great spot to fish, and it is open 24 hours a day.

Another good spot to fish in the Tampa area. We fished this area in the evenings. My parents live just South of Madeira Beach in St. Pete Beach. We threw pieces of shrimp on a hook and enjoyed a couple beverages and caught snapper and little stuff almost every cast. It was a blast.
