World Record Snakehead in Virginia

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- A Virginia man is hoping his big catch is a world record.

Caleb Newton of Spotsylvania County hooked a 17 pound, 6 ounce northern snakehead on Saturday while fishing on the Potomac River tributary of Aquia Creek. The current hook-and-line world record northern snakehead is 17 pounds, 4 ounces and was caught in Japan.
