South Florida - Pine Island Sound

Post by allingeneral »

Fishing reports for Pine Island Sound are being posted by Captain Glenn Grimes of Pine Island Sound Guide Service. Following is a link to his report page at his website and a copy of this week's report.

February 9th - February 16th, 2008

Capt Glenn here reporting this weeks fishing. We have been in some mild weather so far this year. As long as it continues we will have some good fishing. Snook, redfish, and seatrout have been biting well. The bait has finally arrived allowing for some good snook bites. There are some really monster snook out there right now. I have been fishing these baits on cajun thunder popping corks with 16" leader of 30lb or 40lb using greenbacks for bait. Clients have been catching some nice snook and redfish fishing along and under the mangrove trees. With the tides being on the low side this time of year the fish are looking for some deep spots close to the mangrove trees. Seatrout fishing has been good to excellent on the afternoon tide once the tide gets up on the high stage .I have also been using greenbacks for bait for the seatrout. Clients have also been getting some other fish like spanish mackeral, bluefish, and pompano. Well that will do it. Thank you Capt Glenn.
